
Mr. Tao Wang is Senior Climate Change Specialist at the World Bank. Mr. Wang brings his wealth of knowledge and experience on climate change policy, strategy and finance. Mr. Wang is leading climate change engagements in Southeast Asia countries: the long term low emission development strategy in Lao PDR, NDC update in Cambodia, climate and green taxonomy in the Philippines. He also led a team to develop the World Bank Group Climate Change Action Plan. In 2014-2016, Mr. Wang acted as Director of Operations at the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the first global climate fund under the United Nations Climate Change Framework Convention. He led the establishment of the GCF’s operational policies, investment framework, and the development of the GCF’s inaugural investment projects. Prior to that, he worked at the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) as Senior Portfolio and Risk Officer and held several positions at the Carbon Finance Unit of the World Bank. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wang was a consulting manager at Accenture. In addition, Mr. Wang serves as Adjunct Professor at School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University and Adjunct Fellow at the institute of Global Public Policy, Fudan University, China.
