Tao Wang is Senior Climate Change and Environmental Specialist at the World Bank. He brings over 20 years of experience on climate change policy, strategy and finance. Mr. Wang is currently leading climate change engagements in Southeast Asia countries: advising governments to develop long term low emission development strategy, update NDCs, access climate finance, and generate green taxonomies. He is also co-leading the Country Climate and Development Report for Cambodia. In 2014-2016, Mr. Wang acted as Director of Mitigation and Adaptation at the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the first dedicated climate fund under the United Nations Climate Change Framework Convention. He led the establishment of the GCF’s operational policies, investment framework, and the inaugural investment projects. Prior to that, he worked at the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) as Senior Portfolio and Risk Officer and held several positions at the Carbon Finance Unit of the World Bank. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wang was a consulting manager at Accenture.
