Karri Ving, a Managing Principal at Brown and Caldwell, is committed to placing trust at the center of municipal water infrastructure through sound governance, community partnership, and circular business models. Ms. Ving launched her career in the water sector by pioneering San Francisco’s SFGreasecycle Program—a fully closed-loop and cost-neutral urban resource recovery program that converted over one million gallons of commercial and residential used cooking oil into low-carbon biodiesel that fueled City fleets, helping reduce San Francisco’s carbon intensity while diverting grease from sewers. In her role managing the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s Business Strategy and Performance Division, Karri championed Enterprise Risk Management, Total Cost of Risk and linking Levels of Service to environmental and social impacts and business continuity. Ms. Ving joined Brown and Caldwell to support utilities across the US with climate understanding and readiness. As a component of this effort, she is honored to co-lead the US Water Alliance’s 10-city GHG Reductions Cohort.
