Renewable Energy
Josh Lasky recently led a multi-year effort to increase The George Washington University's renewable energy usage resulting in a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) associated with new-build solar development. This agreement will supplement a previous PPA to allow GWU to source 100% of its electricity demand from solar generation. As the university works to fulfill its climate commitments and electrify campus infrastructure, this clean and renewable energy sourcing is a critical strategy for improving resilience and environmental impact. GWU is also concurrently working to drastically drive down energy consumption through an array of efficiency measures, financed in the short term through the monetization of renewable energy certificates (RECs) from on-site, rooftop solar.
